Passion
My first memory of Rogers, was the importance of the brand name in my early childhood, it was the reference company to work for at the time and still is.
I am very proud to have had the opportunity to put Velogic on the map of Project Cargo in the region and we kicked off with a logistic contract of a CEB Power Station extension which included the transport of the heaviest cargo being transported in Mauritius on our public road amongst other cargo.
I started my journey with the company when I was just 20 years old, working on various sites around the island. It was my first real job, and I gave it my all.
Two years later, my hard work was recognised, and I was promoted to Forklift Driver—a step that made me feel proud and motivated to keep growing. At 30, the company secured a big contract with the Marine Ports Authority (MPA) for container deliveries, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for about 1½ years. It was a challenging period, working long shifts, but it paid off.
The extra income allowed me to complete the construction of my house, a goal I had been working toward for years. Over time, I had the opportunity to work on many different projects, including assignments at suites all over the island. These experiences broadened my horizons and made me more versatile in my work. Outside of my regular duties, I found another passion—football. Today, I proudly serve as the trainer of the Velogic Football Team.
Under my guidance, we achieved a significant milestone, winning second place in the 1st Division—a moment of great pride for me and the team. Now, at 60 years old, I look back on my journey with gratitude. I’ve grown alongside the company, achieved personal milestones, and built lasting relationships.
As I continue working until retirement, I feel a sense of fulfilment knowing how far I’ve come and the legacy I’ll leave behind.
37 years

My memorable experience at Rogers is deeply tied to the precious moments I share daily with my colleagues at the office. Each of us brings our own qualities and flaws, but what makes our experience unforgettable are the moments spent together: our laughter, our jokes, and, above all, our sense of humour. These unique and authentic memories will forever be etched in my mind and in our hearts. At Rogers, each memorable moment is an essential piece of our collective mosaic.
I have been with Rogers for nearly 9 years. One of my most memorable experiences was the launch of Rogers Hospitality. It was a magical and extraordinary week where I got to discover all the aspects and products of Rogers Hospitality, such as the Veranda hotels, Heritage Resorts, and restaurants like Domino's Pizza & Chamarel which allowing me to explore a universe different from my daily life.
This moment was unique, filled with positive energy and strong emotions. I was very happy to have the privilege of being one member of the organizers of this event. I greatly appreciated this experience, which also enriched my knowledge. In other words, it was a fantastic experience, and I would do it again without hesitation. It is a memory that will forever be etched in my mind and in my heart.

Empowering
One particularly memorable moment during my time at Rogers Capital was when I was entrusted with my own portfolio shortly after being confirmed in the Client Accounting Department. Initially, managing the accounting for 20-22 companies at once felt quite challenging. However, it required close collaboration with my team, and while I felt the pressure at first, the incredible support I received from my colleagues made all the difference. We worked together seamlessly, and I gained invaluable insights into teamwork, problem-solving, and the core values of the company. This experience not only boosted my confidence but also highlighted the collaborative spirit and growth-oriented culture at Rogers Capital. It's a moment that has stayed with me, and I look forward to continuing to grow and learn here.

Experiencing the company's culture for the first time was my biggest highlight up to now. The emphasis on innovation and community involvement was evident and I'm still proud to be a member of the Roger's family for more than 13 years now!
My journey with Rogers Group has been an enriching experience, spanning over 13 years. I began as a casual waiter at Heritage Le Telfair and gradually worked my way up, holding various roles from waiter to head waiter, and later transitioning into the maintenance department as maintenance coordinator. After eight successful years in Bel Ombre, I moved to Veranda Tamarin, where I took on leadership roles as maintenance supervisor and sustainability officer, helping the hotel earn prestigious awards such as The Pledge on Food Waste, the Green Key certificate, and a Silver Award at the Mauritius Sustainable Awards. My most recent role as Maintenance Executive is a testament to the opportunities for growth within the company, and I'm proud to continue contributing to its success. A big thank you for the trust!

Diversified
I don't have personal experiences or memories, but Rogers & Co. is a well-known conglomerate based in Mauritius. It was founded in 1899 and has since grown into one of the most prominent companies in the country. Rogers operates in sectors such as aviation, logistics, hospitality, and financial services. They are particularly recognized for their involvement in hospitality through VLH, which manages hotels like Heritage Resorts, as well as other businesses contributing to the economy of Mauritius.
While I don't have personal experiences, a particularly memorable moment within a company like the Rogers Group could be the successful launch of a major initiative, such as a sustainability project or a groundbreaking partnership that significantly impacted the community. For example, moments of innovation, like spearheading eco-friendly hospitality efforts, or key milestones such as large-scale infrastructure development, would be deeply memorable. These experiences often highlight the company's commitment to growth and societal impact.

Empowerment
My first memory of Rogers dates back to November 2017 when I joined as a Credit Officer. I remember walking into the office and being welcomed by a small team of just four in my department. The warm atmosphere, combined with our weekly happy hours, made it easy to connect with my colleagues and get to know everyone, including the directors, who were genuinely approachable and interested in our well-being.
One memorable experience as a Credit Officer was during the busy holiday season. Despite the late nights and pressure, we enjoyed working together as a team. Management brought in pizza on December 24th to lift our spirits, and many colleagues organized dinners and shared snacks, which made the long hours more enjoyable. Throughout these challenging times, we supported each other, which strengthened our bonds. Additionally, the company has played a significant role in my personal development. As I transitioned into the Legal and Compliance department, I had the opportunity to conduct AML training for employees, which not only enhanced my communication skills but also allowed me to achieve a personal goal and contribute to my growth within the organization.
In 2022, the Bel Ombre region in Mauritius was honoured as the 'Best Tourism Village of Mauritius' in the
UNWTO Best Tourism Village competition. This recognition by the United Nations World Tourism Organization highlights rural destinations that are committed to sustainable tourism practices while preserving their cultural heritage, biodiversity, and community values. Bel Ombre was specifically acknowledged for its efforts in promoting sustainable tourism as a driver of development, creating new job opportunities, and preserving the local environment and traditions. This accolade further strengthened Rogers' commitment to developing Bel Ombre as a model for eco-conscious and inclusive tourism.
In 2023, the Mauritian conglomerate Rogers Group, through its logistics subsidiary Velogic, acquired Rongai as part of its regional expansion strategy. This acquisition allows Velogic to strengthen its presence, serving destinations across East Africa, including Uganda and Rwanda, and offering a broader range of logistics services while expanding its transport network. The acquisition also reflects Rogers Group’s broader strategy of entering high-growth markets across the African continent.

Family
I was 5 years old when my father had to go to South Africa for a hernia operation. My mother accompanied him and I was to stay with my siblings. I was very sad and scared about my parents leaving me behind. My Dad took me to Rogers House to book and pay for his tickets. When I entered Rogers House the atmosphere of the building felt like stepping into a dream, where reality and fantasy intertwine. There was a kind of magic in the air that made everything feel surreal and special. I was overwhelmed by feelings of excitement, admiration and the buzzing energy flowing in the building. I was impressed by the classy airline attires. I felt connected, bonded and in harmony with the place; like a sense of union. My parents flew on South African Airways and the image of the majestic SAA Jumbo 747 with the orange tail and Suid-Afrikaanse Lugdiens (the Afrikaans name for South African Airways) written on the plane is still fresh in my mind. Sixteen years after I proudly joined Rogers Aviation. My first job and and only place of work since then. I fell in love, got married, got my kids and went through many good and very hard times in my life but Rogers stayed in my life all way through. It's a part of me, my essence, my existence. Rogers is my first family.
I was pregnant of my second child and only learnt about it when I started bleeding at work and was carried to the doctor. The doctor did a painful injection and asked me to stay in bed as the next 24 hours would be crucial in me keeping my child. That same night there was an urgent medical case to be uplifted on the next morning flight and when I heard about it, I immediately agreed to walk 4 floors down the stairs and come to the office (I was the one living nearest to the office). I was asked to break open the cupboard with the help of the security to get hold of manual tickets (the key was with the cashier who stayed in the south) and do all the process for the stretcher authorization. I left office around 02H00 am still with pain but with a feeling of accomplishment. The medical case flew on the next day and in South Africa they discovered that the doctor in Mauritius had given a wrong diagnosis and he didn't have any tumour. Sometime after I nearly delivered my baby at the office; but this is another anecdote :) The patient as well as his whole family came to thank me and till now the brother of the patient always introduces me as the lady who did an exceptional gesture and somehow saved his brother's life.

As the former Chief Serving Officer of Lovebridge, an NGO engaged in the fight against poverty, my journey with the Rogers Group began in 2017 in Bel Ombre, where our missions intersected in a shared commitment to support vulnerable families living in the region. This role allowed me to witness firsthand Rogers Group's dedication to social and economic progress within the region, especially through initiatives aimed at uplifting local communities. This initial interaction highlighted genuine involvement in sustainable projects and set the foundation for my lasting impression of the company's values and vision.
"Bouze Zenes" is a youth empowerment programme launched by the Rogers Foundation in Bel Ombre in 2024. The initiative aims to enhance the holistic development and wellbeing of youth living in the region, providing them with skills and growth opportunities. Meeting and sharing with the youth was amazing, sparking joy and great energy.

It was 2016. I had left behind the polished, ultra-modern luxury of Singapore, where skyscrapers sparkled against the skyline, and everything moved with clockwork precision, from the bustling business districts to the immaculate public spaces. Arriving in Mauritius, the contrast was striking. I was very apprehensive about being able to adapt. But my doubts began to slowly dissolve as soon as I stepped onto the fifth floor of Rogers House and I was Prema at the reception, smiling and looking so welcoming! Then I met more people in the office, and I soon realised that Rogers wasn't just a corporate entity; it was a place filled with genuine warmth and an authentic connection to the island. People spoke with pride, not only about their work but about Mauritius itself. They shared stories of growth and tradition, of challenges and resilience, and, in those conversations, I saw how deeply they valued both progress and heritage. Rogers became more than just an employer; it became my gateway into understanding Mauritius on a level I hadn't anticipated. The company embodied a delicate balance: it embraced Mauritius' natural beauty and traditions, while still aspiring to evolve, innovate and grow.
In my first few weeks at Rogers, we had a meeting with someone in the Hospitality cluster, held at Le Telfair. I had never been there before, and as I walked into the reception area, I paused, captivated by the view stretching out before me. The scene was nothing short of exquisite, and it took my breath away. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of gratitude and pride to be part of a Group that not only owned such a remarkable property but also created this same awe-inspiring experience for guests from around the world.

When I was little, I was always impressed seeing people taking the "Rogers Bus" and I told myself that one day I'll take it too. I have been able to use the bus for the 1st year I started working at Rogers .
I have witnessed several changes in the group and what I can say is that we have always faced the challenges together as a team/group to become stronger.
I’ll never forget the day I joined the company—Monday, the 15th of December 1980.
It’s a date etched in my memory not just because it was the start of my career, but because of how it all began. That weekend, I went to a party, like most young men my age, enjoying life without a care in the world. I got back home early Monday morning, completely unaware of the storm waiting for me. My mother was waiting, furious. She reminded me I had to start work that very day, and she wasn’t wrong jobs were hard to come by in those days. Without wasting a second, I scrambled to get ready. When I arrived late at the Albion Dock in Port Louis, I nervously made an excuse, telling them I had missed my way. Thankfully, I was allowed to start, and that moment marked the beginning of a journey that has lasted 44 years.
Today, at 65 years old, I look back with immense pride. Serving the company for more than four decades has been a privilege. That first day may not have started perfectly, but it shaped the hardworking, dedicated person I am today.

Wearing the Rogers uniform with immense pride back then, the company was best known as Rogers Airways Centre, so our uniforms displayed the aviation logo symbolized by a bird.
Every opportunity at Rogers has been instrumental in shaping my career. I began my journey in December 1989 as a Telex/Fax operator and receptionist, and each role I've held has been a significant step toward becoming a People Operations Specialist. Reflecting on my 35 years with Rogers, I see a clear pattern: every leader I've collaborated with invited me to join their team. Each time, I took the leap and embraced new opportunities, for which I am deeply grateful. Rogers places a strong emphasis on competencies, attitude, and behaviour, fostering an environment for growth. Thank you, Philippe, for being such an inspiring leader.

Our move from the 3rd floor to a beautifully designed new office on the 5th floor, Rogers House.
My story: ''My journey with Rogers Group began in April 2006, and it has been an incredible experience of growth, connection, and family. When I first joined, I thought I was just working, but I didn't realize I was building lifelong relationships and being part of a supportive community that genuinely cares for each other. It all started at Cerena Group in Trianon, where I worked in the HR department under the leadership of Mr. Bertrand Abraham. After a year, I moved to Rogers House, joining the HR team with Mr. Manish Bundhun as Chief Human Resources Executive. In 2008, I had the opportunity to be among those who moved to our new head office, where I worked in the Communication Department, coordinating our monthly newsletter 'Network' and our prestige magazine 'Presence,' while also collaborating with the Finance Department on publishing our Abridged Results. In August 2013, I transitioned to Rogers Capital Technology Services Ltd (formerly EIS Ltd) as an HR Officer. It was a significant change, and soon after, in November 2013, my life took an unexpected turn when my husband passed away after a brief illness. I was devastated! But I will never forget the love, support and compassion I received from my Rogers family. Mr. Kabir Ruhee, my then-Managing Director, reassured me during my difficult time, saying, "In life, your health comes first, then your family, and third your work. Go take care of your husband and family. They need you now, and we will wait for you." Those words gave me the strength I needed. Our Group CEO, Mr. Philippe Espitalier Noël, called me in person to show his sympathy and Mr. Manish Bundhun and my colleagues collected funds as a sign of their care. I was deeply moved by their actions, and for which I am forever grateful. In 2017, I faced another challenging time, battling depression. Thanks to my family, friends, colleagues, and unwavering faith in God, I overcame this phase. Despite my struggles, in 2018, I was promoted to Human Capital Business Partner for our Technology sector. However, recognizing my health limitations, I requested a reduction in responsibilities to avoid the stress that might trigger a relapse. In 2019, I transitioned to the role of Office Administrator, overseeing facilities across five floors and leading a team of 17 administrative staff. I also had the opportunity to coach them in customer service, grooming, and personal development, thanks to the support of my former boss, Mr. Fabrice Baillache. My passion for sustainability led to a new role in 2022 as Sustainability and Facilities Officer, where I focused on impactful initiatives like supporting NGOs, uplifting women, and collaborating with Junior Achievement Mascareignes and the Fam-Unie Foundation to foster community growth and empower women. Currently, I serve as the Sustainability Champion and Vice-Chairperson on the Health & Safety Committee, demonstrating my dedication to corporate responsibility and employee well-being. My past involvement with our Welfare Committee also speaks to my commitment to a positive workplace culture. I would like to thank Ms. Diya Kinnoo, our Head of HR, for her trust and belief in me. On a happier note, I met my current husband at work back in 2014; we were both working at EIS Ltd, and we married in 2018. Balancing my professional journey at Rogers with my personal life, I have found immense joy and fulfillment. Today, I am a proud mother of a 23-year-old son completing his first degree and an 11-year-old stepdaughter already in college. At Rogers, placing PEOPLE at the heart of our business is what drives our success, and I believe that every team member brings a unique contribution. I have a strong sense of belonging to Rogers Capital and strive to embody our values of Agility, Excellence, and Pioneering in my daily work. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and fostering a culture of sustainability across Rogers Capital. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks. To my former colleagues: Meera Gourdeale, Mary Muthusawmy, and Sandra Lam from Rogers and Company Limited To all my colleagues from ex-EIS Ltd, now Rogers Capital Technology To all my current colleagues at Rogers Capital, particularly those I work closely with: The Rogers Capital HR Team, Jaivina Bauljeewon, Arunah Sookur-Rambarun, Karishma Beharee, Roselle Eleonore, Jayshree Bhikoo, Vinessa Ramsamy, and Sharmila Teelwah. To all my RCMS colleagues on the 2nd floor To the Sustainability Team: Bandish Augnoo, Priscille Noël, and Mickael Appaya To the Property Management Team: Annabelle Koenig, Natheraje Nellapin, and the Security Team. This transition not only enhanced the operational capabilities of the business but also opened up numerous job opportunities across various departments. Agrïa, formerly known as Compagnie Sucrière de Bel Ombre, traces its origins back to 1910 as one of Mauritius’s leading sugar estates, deeply rooted in the island’s southwest region, Bel Ombre. For decades, the estate was a cornerstone of the Mauritian sugar industry.
Today, Agrïa oversees the sustainable development of the group’s lands in Bel Ombre, Case Noyale, and Chamarel. It also preserves and promotes iconic sites like Le Château de Bel Ombre and the Seven Coloured Earth, managed by Rogers Hospitality—symbolic of the group’s dedication to the region’s cultural and natural heritage.
Managing 7,119 hectares in Bel Ombre, Case Noyale and Chamarel, Agrïa has expanded its focus from sugar production to diversified and sustainable agribusiness activities, including responsible farming, livestock (deer, wild boar, and pheasant) and culture of pineapples, palms and a variety of plants and property development. Through these efforts, Agrïa plays a pivotal role in Rogers Group’s vision of long-term growth that respects the local environment and community.
In 2021, Rogers Hospitality launched its "Now for Tomorrow" sustainability program, marking a significant step in promoting sustainable tourism in Mauritius. This initiative introduced the first carbon-neutral stays at Heritage Resorts in Bel Ombre, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy eco-conscious luxury while offsetting the carbon emissions from their stay. Additionally, the program extends to other properties like Veranda Resorts, where similar offset options are available.

I started to work for Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel on 26th October 1998, as Mini club attendant, at an early age of 19 years old. It was hard to adapt for my first 3 months to work in the hotel industry, but gradually I found it fun to interact with other people from different countries. I’ve been promoted to Guest Relation Officer and then to Front Office Supervisor.
I’ve also met my husband at the hotel, he was from the Food and Beverages Department and then he decided to take other challenges. I worked in the Front Office Department for 13 years and decided to move to the housekeeping department for a new experience and indeed it was very different compared to the task from Front Office. There has been a lot of new challenges, but with a positive mind, I’m still here, where I belong to and very happy to be part of this family of Rogers Hospitality for 26 years of service.

My first memory of the workplace was during my initial orientation. I recall feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I was introduced to my team and the company's culture. The warm welcome from my colleagues and the informative sessions about our goals and values made a lasting impression. It was inspiring to see the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence that defines our work environment, setting a positive tone for my journey here.
One particularly memorable moment during my time with the Rogers Group was when we successfully launched a major project that required extensive collaboration across departments. As the deadline approached, we faced several challenges that tested our problem-solving skills and teamwork. I vividly remember a late-night brainstorming session where team members from different backgrounds came together, sharing ideas and strategies. The energy in the room was electric, and it was inspiring to see everyone's commitment to achieving a common goal. When we finally launched the project on time, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. It reinforced the power of collaboration and highlighted the supportive culture at Rogers Group. This experience not only strengthened my professional relationships but also deepened my appreciation for the teamwork that drives our success.

A memorable moment for me was when Rogers Aviation made MUR100m PAT! We rose from the ashes and rebuilt ourselves from scratch after covid and demonstrated our resilience and agility as one united team.

In May 2004, I had the opportunity to experience a training course together with Raoul Maurel conducted by Dr David Freemantle on the famous BUZZ concept – an essential tool for the personalization of all the services that we provide to our guests and making each minute of our guests stay ‘truly authentic moments’. In April 2005, Raoul was appointed as the Buzz Manager and he made the BUZZ become a way of life & a driving force philosophy in our daily tasks & activities, so as to make the difference at all times within the group Our mission was to think outside the box and challenge oneself to come up with creative ideas based on simplicity and elegance. The passion for the BUZZ concept inculcated to me by our Buzz Manager, contributed largely to my success in the Buzz competitions held within the group in mid 2005.
With a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service, our company has set a benchmark in the hospitality industry, and this commitment has fuelled my passion for working with Rogers Hospitality for the past 21 years 4 months.
I take immense pride in being one of the original members of the opening team at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, where I continue to thrive and contribute to its success. My career began in the hospitality sector as a Public Relations Officer at Marina Resort & Club, Anse La Raie which was a member of Veranda Resorts by then, and through perseverance, I have cultivated expertise across various roles in Human Resources at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, Bel Ombre.
This journey has led me to my current role as a People Operations Specialist. Each position has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of people management, problem-solving, and fostering a collaborative environment, aligning perfectly with my personal motto: "We rise by lifting others." Highlights of my journey include: Earning the titles of Best VLH Ambassador (2017) and Best Heritage Resorts Ambassador (2018), underscoring my dedication to quality, service, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Actively contributing to the Heritage Resorts Ambassadors Programme, which honed my skills in quality assurance and service excellence. Driving impactful strategies for our internal customers—Our People—while remaining steadfast in my dedication to our shared vision.
As I look to the future, I am eager to further showcase my commitment to enhancing our company's culture, service excellence, and team well-being. My journey exemplifies my belief: "Once a Rogers Ambassador, always a Rogers Ambassador."
May this adventure continue with renewed passion and purpose.

Either "Excellence" or "Agility"
My father served the group for over 20 years. Thanks to his job, I was lucky enough to visit and stay quite often at my favorite hotels: Veranda Palmar, Veranda Grand Baie, and Veranda Pointe aux Biches. I loved the Ti Momo kids club, beaches, restaurants, and hospitality of the personnel. These hotels became my childhood havens. It was around that time, when I was eight, that I asked who actually owned them and was told that it was the Rogers Group. I thought the group was a team of guys all named Rogers then, I didn't quite grasp what a body corporate was, but Rogers was already a big deal to me!
I only joined the group earlier this year, but it already feels right to pen this testimonial. As some of the veterans say, Rogers' blue blood runs through my veins. I grew up with Rogers' values unknowingly. I was drawn towards meaningful change, excellence, agility, innovation, sustainability and aimed to be part of it all someday. Rogers was my first choice after graduating in 2018. Since then, I made my way to the Rogers family and now I am proud to also drive sustainable growth of Mauritian businesses and communities. Today, I am having the chance to work and set in motion these values through social projects, the integration of our head offices and our culture programme. I am confident that together we will achieve many more milestones.

My first job after graduating from university, Over the past 17 years at Rogers Hospitality, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to grow and evolve across multiple roles. Starting as an IT Programmer, I transitioned to Sales team as an Ecommerce Administrator and now proudly serve as Head of Revenue & Ecommerce. This journey has been one of continuous learning and growth, driven by a supportive team and a company culture that values innovation and development. Rogers Hospitality has been more than just a workplace—it’s a family that empowers its people to thrive. I’m grateful for the trust and opportunities that have shaped my career and look forward to contributing to our continued success.
Your boss telling you that you need to find the solution to the problem before coming to discuss, the idea was to empower me to think critically, take initiative, and develop problem-solving skills, fostering independence and boosting my confidence in handling challenges.

The history of Heritage Resorts & Golf is closely intertwined with the development of the Bel Ombre region and Rogers Group's vision for sustainable tourism in Mauritius. The story begins with the acquisition of the Bel Ombre Sugar Estate by Amédée Maingard, a key figure in the history of Rogers and Mauritius. He saw the potential for tourism and hospitality in the region, long before it became a major economic sector for the island. In the early 2000s, after decades of sugar production, the estate was transformed into a luxury tourism destination by Rogers. The launch of Heritage Resorts & Golf marked the beginning of this transformation, with the opening of Heritage Le Telfair and Heritage Awali Golf. These resorts, along with the Heritage Golf Club, have become flagship properties in the south of Mauritius, offering a blend of luxury, heritage, and sustainability.
Rogers' vision for Bel Ombre goes beyond hospitality.
The group has worked to create a "destination within a destination," integrating eco-friendly practices and supporting the local community through sustainable development. This vision is captured by the territorial brand "Bel Ombre. Lamer. Later. Lavi.," launched by Rogers to promote the region's natural beauty, biodiversity, and cultural heritage.
La Réserve Golf Links, inaugurated in December 2023, stands as the first and only contemporary links-style golf course in the Indian Ocean. Situated within the esteemed Heritage Bel Ombre estate in Mauritius, this 18-hole championship course was co-designed by renowned golf course architect Peter Matkovich and former Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen. Emphasising sustainability and environmental conservation, La Réserve Golf Links has achieved GEO Certified® Development status, making it the first course in the African region to receive this prestigious recognition.
Adjacent to La Réserve, Le Château Golf Course, also part of the Heritage Golf Club, has been offering golfers a unique experience since its opening in 2004. This 18-hole course is set around the historic 19th-century Le Château de Bel Ombre, allowing players to enjoy a blend of history and natural beauty.
Both La Réserve Golf Links and Le Château Golf Course have hosted the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, a tournament co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour. This highlights the courses' international standards and their contribution to positioning Mauritius as a premier golfing destination.
The Rogers Group, through its hospitality arm, Rogers Hospitality, has been instrumental in developing these golf courses as part of its vision to promote high-end, sustainable tourism within Mauritius. The dual 45-holes offering of La Réserve and Le Château provides varied golfing experiences that enhance the island’s appeal to international travelers and local golf enthusiasts alike.
Rogers Group’s commitment to creating a sustainable and luxurious destination is evident in these golf courses, which form part of the broader Heritage Bel Ombre master plan. This plan includes eco-conscious hospitality options, like the Heritage Awali and Heritage Le Telfair resorts, and initiatives to preserve and showcase the region’s unique biodiversity. Through these developments, Rogers has played a significant role in establishing Mauritius as a notable destination for sustainable luxury and elite golf experiences.

Opportunity
To be honest, I didn't know what Rogers was before joining. Having just graduated in 1993, I would have taken any opportunity to start earning money as I just wanted to, at last, stop relying on my parents. At 24 it was about time. Thus, it was my first job which I started about a month after landing in Mauritius.
I was not really thinking of making a career at Rogers. Therefore, to be still in the group after 31 years is, in itself, a testament to how loyalty has served me well. To me, Rogers has been a ‘’land’’ of opportunities; a place to grow as a person, learn, and expand my network-not only within the group but also in the wider community. In fact, it is easy for me to say that Rogers has been the main influence in shaping the person I am today. Starting as a trainee, I was given opportunities to climb the career ladder by taking on challenges which I grasped with both hands whenever I had the chance. As a diversified group, Rogers has allowed me to learn about various business activities- quite a rare opportunity to find within one company.
Three big challenges that come to my mind include my posting in Madagascar right in the middle of the political crisis of 2002 and the blockade of Antananarivo, the turnaround of EIS (now RCTL) and ensuring the continuity of Velogic logistics services during COVID, when the country was ‘’locked down’’.
Last but not least, none of this would have been possible without the great colleagues I was/am fortunate to work with at Rogers and the trust of my bosses. In short, my adventure with Rogers has been one of opportunities and amazing people.

Legacy
I remember, as a child, going to Port-Louis with my mother every Saturday. We’d pass by Rogers House, that grand building that seemed to hold an air of mystery. Standing in front of it, I felt so small. I would look up in awe, my mind racing with curiosity, wondering what incredible things might be happening behind those walls. To me, it was a place of secrets and stories, a world of grown-ups that I was eager to one day understand. Little did I know then that Rogers House wasn’t just a building; it was a symbol of growth and ambition on the island, representing a legacy of resilience and innovation that has shaped the Mauritius we know today.
Although I joined the Rogers Group only recently, I already feel a strong sense of belonging, thanks to the incredibly warm welcome from my team. Moving to Rogers represents a pivotal step in my career, and I was deeply inspired not only by the vision that guides the Rogers Group but by the passion and dedication of the people I now work alongside. Seeing firsthand the commitment to growth and innovation, I look forward to being part of the journey ahead.

Agility

I started my career in Rogers group at Heritage Golf Club on 1st August 2016 as bartender. Everything was new to me as it was the first time working in hospitality. There I got great opportunites to develop myself, to learn a lot concerning preparation on cocktail, drinks, and above all sharing great moments working for big competitions like ABMO and others. I was very dedicated to my work and perfom duty with keen interest to the best of my ability. I got the chance to meet with many villa owners and personalities for competitions and events. Cooporate team work was among my best qualities. After covid 19, I was being transfered to Awali hotel where I continued as barman for nearly one year.
In december 2021, I got the offer to work in maintenance department as coordinator, as previously before joining Rogers group I was working in a water engineering company where I earn lots of knowledge of maintenance and water management/water treatment. My duty as coordinator is to manage utilities (water/electricity/gas/diesel), follow up of work, records, and water management. I entertain very good relationship with my collegues in my department as well as other departments, managers and others also. I work to the entire satisfaction of the management.
