Fantastic team building day back in 2018! Closing the office for a day and having a treasure hunt in Triolet, followed by an open buffet at Mont Choisy. It has been a great way to foster camaraderie and share happy moments. It has been a memorable experience for everyone involved combining adventure, teamwork, and good food.
Surprise celebration for my 30th working anniversary in June 2023.

The way I was approached by HR for an interview, the quality of that interview, the consideration towards me when making me the job offer and the way everybody ensured I was comfortable when is started, is something I have not experienced elsewhere and will never forget. Just that situation made me think that this is an enterprise with a purpose and that I must be at the right place! The first impression is often the lasting one...

Family
I was 5 years old when my father had to go to South Africa for a hernia operation. My mother accompanied him and I was to stay with my siblings. I was very sad and scared about my parents leaving me behind. My Dad took me to Rogers House to book and pay for his tickets. When I entered Rogers House the atmosphere of the building felt like stepping into a dream, where reality and fantasy intertwine. There was a kind of magic in the air that made everything feel surreal and special. I was overwhelmed by feelings of excitement, admiration and the buzzing energy flowing in the building. I was impressed by the classy airline attires. I felt connected, bonded and in harmony with the place; like a sense of union. My parents flew on South African Airways and the image of the majestic SAA Jumbo 747 with the orange tail and Suid-Afrikaanse Lugdiens (the Afrikaans name for South African Airways) written on the plane is still fresh in my mind. Sixteen years after I proudly joined Rogers Aviation. My first job and and only place of work since then. I fell in love, got married, got my kids and went through many good and very hard times in my life but Rogers stayed in my life all way through. It's a part of me, my essence, my existence. Rogers is my first family.
I was pregnant of my second child and only learnt about it when I started bleeding at work and was carried to the doctor. The doctor did a painful injection and asked me to stay in bed as the next 24 hours would be crucial in me keeping my child. That same night there was an urgent medical case to be uplifted on the next morning flight and when I heard about it, I immediately agreed to walk 4 floors down the stairs and come to the office (I was the one living nearest to the office). I was asked to break open the cupboard with the help of the security to get hold of manual tickets (the key was with the cashier who stayed in the south) and do all the process for the stretcher authorization. I left office around 02H00 am still with pain but with a feeling of accomplishment. The medical case flew on the next day and in South Africa they discovered that the doctor in Mauritius had given a wrong diagnosis and he didn't have any tumour. Sometime after I nearly delivered my baby at the office; but this is another anecdote :) The patient as well as his whole family came to thank me and till now the brother of the patient always introduces me as the lady who did an exceptional gesture and somehow saved his brother's life.

When Richard Koeing meets me in my office at the nursery and says to me: "Il y a un train qui passe, veux tu faire en faire partie ?"
Effectivement je rencontre le responsable et il me dit alors "Ok fine, the team is working overthere (under the nursery shed), you can join them".
Merci.

Trailblazing
In May 2004, I had the opportunity to experience a training course together with Raoul Maurel conducted by Dr David Freemantle on the famous BUZZ concept – an essential tool for the personalization of all the services that we provide to our guests and making each minute of our guests stay ‘truly authentic moments’. In April 2005, Raoul was appointed as the Buzz Manager and he made the BUZZ become a way of life & a driving force philosophy in our daily tasks & activities, so as to make the difference at all times within the group Our mission was to think outside the box and challenge oneself to come up with creative ideas based on simplicity and elegance. The passion for the BUZZ concept inculcated to me by our Buzz Manager, contributed largely to my success in the Buzz competitions held within the group in mid 2005.
With a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service, our company has set a benchmark in the hospitality industry, and this commitment has fuelled my passion for working with Rogers Hospitality for the past 21 years 4 months.
I take immense pride in being one of the original members of the opening team at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, where I continue to thrive and contribute to its success. My career began in the hospitality sector as a Public Relations Officer at Marina Resort & Club, Anse La Raie which was a member of Veranda Resorts by then, and through perseverance, I have cultivated expertise across various roles in Human Resources at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, Bel Ombre.
This journey has led me to my current role as a People Operations Specialist. Each position has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of people management, problem-solving, and fostering a collaborative environment, aligning perfectly with my personal motto: "We rise by lifting others." Highlights of my journey include: Earning the titles of Best VLH Ambassador (2017) and Best Heritage Resorts Ambassador (2018), underscoring my dedication to quality, service, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Actively contributing to the Heritage Resorts Ambassadors Programme, which honed my skills in quality assurance and service excellence. Driving impactful strategies for our internal customers—Our People—while remaining steadfast in my dedication to our shared vision.
As I look to the future, I am eager to further showcase my commitment to enhancing our company's culture, service excellence, and team well-being. My journey exemplifies my belief: "Once a Rogers Ambassador, always a Rogers Ambassador."
May this adventure continue with renewed passion and purpose.

I was sent for a mission in Madagascar for 3 weeks and I had to stay 5 years. Everytime I was discussing with the management about the length of the mission, the CEO and CFO would reply we sent you on a specific mission not on a timeline asisgment. Today, as I stand here as a proud member of the Rogers House family, I am reminded of that young girl with big dreams. The journey from those school days to now has been incredible, and every step has been worth it. Rogers House continues to inspire me, just as it did back then, and I am grateful to be part of this amazing journey.

Coming to Port Louis with my dad on Saturdays and passing by the huge Rogers House. At that time I felt so tiny in front of this building.
One of the most memorable experience was the renovation of several floors of Rogers House by Rogers Capital, especially witnessing the change that occurred on the emblematical 3rd floor of the building. The moving in was also an intensely emotional moment.

Meaningful
My first memory of Rogers dates back to when I joined the team on the 8th of January 2024 and walked through the doors of Rogers House in Port Louis. The building itself, with its rich history, had always been a landmark from my childhood, but it was only on that first day as a new member of the Rogers family that I truly understood its significance. Being in a place so steeped in heritage, where so many have contributed to meaningful change over the years, gave me an immediate sense of pride and belonging.
While I may not have the years of history with Rogers that some of my colleagues do, my ten months here have been nothing short of transformative. Starting at Rogers House in Port Louis, a building that had always been emblematic in my childhood, I quickly realised that Rogers is not just a company but a living legacy. Moving to ENL House in Moka brought me closer to my roots, as my grandmother worked in this very place decades ago. Through the stories and guidance of colleagues who've been working for Rogers for a very long time, I've learned that Rogers is defined by its people, their dedication, passion and commitment to meaningful change. It's through these relationships that I've truly experienced the essence of Rogers, a place where history and innovation merge to create a brighter future. Though my time here is short compared to those who have been with Rogers for decades, I am proud to be part of this legacy, contributing to a story that has been 125 years in the making. Here's to meaningful change and the many more stories yet to be written.

Inspiring
Every day after school, as I walked down John Kennedy Street in Port Louis, my eyes would always be drawn to the Rogers House. There was something about its presence that captivated me, a sense of inspiration and aspiration that resonated deeply within me. The name itself, "Rogers House" held a certain magic, a promise of opportunities and dreams waiting to be fulfilled. I would often pause for a moment, imagining myself as part of the vibrant team within those walls. The thought of contributing to such a prestigious company filled me with determination and hope. It was more than just a building; it was a symbol of my ambitions and the future I envisioned for myself. Today, as I stand here as a proud member of the Rogers House family, I am reminded of that young girl with big dreams. The journey from those school days to now has been incredible, and every step has been worth it. Rogers House continues to inspire me, just as it did back then, and I am grateful to be part of this amazing journey.
One of the most unforgettable experiences I've had with the Rogers Group was during our team building. This event was more than just a break from our daily routines; it was a chance for all of us to come together, not just as colleagues, but as a close-knit family. The retreat was held at a beautiful location, surrounded by nature, which provided the perfect backdrop for bonding and relaxation. The highlight of the retreat was the end-of-year party. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and a sense of unity. We played games, shared stories, and celebrated our achievements. It was during this time that I truly felt the strength of our team spirit and the supportive culture that the Rogers Group fosters. However, the most significant moment for me is when I was promoted to a new role, which marked the beginning of an exciting and challenging journey. This promotion was a turning point in my career. It came with the responsibility of leading a team, which was both exhilarating and daunting. I remember the first project we tackled together; it was a complex task that required innovative thinking and collaboration. The support I received from my colleagues was incredible. They were always there to offer advice, share their expertise, and encourage me to push my boundaries. This period was a time of immense growth for me, both professionally and personally. I learned valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Looking back, this experience stands out not just because of the promotion, but because of the journey that followed. It was a time of learning, adapting and thriving in a dynamic environment. The memories of those days, the challenges we overcame, and the bonds we formed are something I will always cherish. The Rogers Group has been more than just a workplace; it has been a place where dreams are nurtured, and potential is realized.
Guy Hugnin is a distinguished figure in the Mauritian tourism and hospitality industry, with a career spanning several decades and marked by significant contributions to the sector's development.
In 1952, Hugnin joined the Mauritius Travel and Tourism Bureau (MTTB), a subsidiary of the Rogers Group, where he played a pivotal role in promoting Mauritius as a tourist destination.
Recognising the need for quality accommodation to cater to the growing number of visitors, Hugnin, alongside fellow hotelier Michel Pitot, co-founded Veranda Bungalow Village in 1982. This establishment, now known as Veranda Grand Baie Hotel & Spa, was among the first to offer mid-range lodging options in Mauritius, addressing a gap in the market and setting new standards in the hospitality industry.
Hugnin's vision extended beyond hotel management. He was actively involved in the broader tourism ecosystem, contributing to the development of Air Mauritius and other initiatives that enhanced the island's connectivity and appeal to international tourists.
Even after retiring from the MTTB in 2000, Hugnin remained engaged in the industry. He served on the boards of Veranda Leisure & Hospitality (VLH) and other organisations, sharing his expertise and continuing to influence the sector's growth.
In December 2022, the Rogers Group published Hugnin's memoirs, recognising his longstanding collaboration and invaluable contributions to the company's success and the development of Mauritius's tourism industry. Today, the Hugnin family’s ongoing shareholding in Rogers Hospitality reflects their enduring commitment to the industry and the company’s success.
Guy Hugnin's legacy is characterised by his dedication to excellence and innovation in hospitality. His efforts have left an indelible mark on Mauritius's tourism landscape, contributing to the island's status as a premier destination in the Indian Ocean.
The founding of Air Mauritius in 1967 marked a transformative moment for Mauritius, with Rogers & Co playing a pivotal role in the creation and growth of the airline. As the island neared independence, the need for air connectivity to support economic growth and tourism became essential. Amédée Maingard, a key figure at Rogers and a visionary leader, led the efforts to establish the airline. His international connections enabled partnerships with major players like the Mauritian government, Air France, BOAC (now British Airways), and Air India. Each of the first three partners held a 27.5% stake, while Rogers & Co., a key partner representing major international airlines on the island, held the remaining 17.5%.
Initially starting as a ground handling agent, Air Mauritius' launch was driven by Rogers' expertise and financial backing, making the airline’s success possible. The strategic vision and leadership provided by Rogers helped the airline grow, significantly contributing to the island's tourism and economic development. Over the years, the Mauritian government steadily increased its ownership in the airline. By 1980, it had acquired a 42.5% stake, making it the largest shareholder. Air Mauritius continued to grow, expanding its network to serve Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia, and became a vital contributor to the Mauritian economy and tourism sector.
In October 2021, Airport Holdings Ltd, a government entity, acquired additional shares, raising the combined ownership of the Mauritian government, Airport Holdings Ltd, and Airports of Mauritius Ltd to 91.69%. This significant move brought Air Mauritius almost fully under government control. Finally, in February 2022, Airport Holdings Ltd completed its mandatory offer to acquire the remaining shares in Air Mauritius, resulting in a 94.04% government ownership. This acquisition brought Air Mauritius nearly entirely under state ownership, further solidifying its role as a national carrier fully dedicated to supporting Mauritius’ connectivity and economic growth.

My first memory of Rogers is sitting on the white sofa in the reception area before my interview. I was immediately impressed by the ambiance - the soft lighting and the charming little alley surrounded by pebbles at the entrance. The trees, which I couldn't quite identify as coconut or palm, added to the inviting atmosphere. It truly felt like a place where I could see myself working.
One of the most memorable aspects of working with the Rogers Group is the unwavering support within the team. Whether it's tackling a challenging task or navigating tight deadlines, everyone is always willing to lend a hand. The collective commitment to each other's success not only enhances our productivity but also strengthens our team dynamics, making each challenge an opportunity for growth.

I don't have personal experiences or memories, but Rogers & Co. is a well-known conglomerate based in Mauritius. It was founded in 1899 and has since grown into one of the most prominent companies in the country. Rogers operates in sectors such as aviation, logistics, hospitality, and financial services. They are particularly recognized for their involvement in hospitality through VLH, which manages hotels like Heritage Resorts, as well as other businesses contributing to the economy of Mauritius.
While I don't have personal experiences, a particularly memorable moment within a company like the Rogers Group could be the successful launch of a major initiative, such as a sustainability project or a groundbreaking partnership that significantly impacted the community. For example, moments of innovation, like spearheading eco-friendly hospitality efforts, or key milestones such as large-scale infrastructure development, would be deeply memorable. These experiences often highlight the company's commitment to growth and societal impact.

My first memory of the workplace was during my initial orientation. I recall feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I was introduced to my team and the company's culture. The warm welcome from my colleagues and the informative sessions about our goals and values made a lasting impression. It was inspiring to see the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence that defines our work environment, setting a positive tone for my journey here.
One particularly memorable moment during my time with the Rogers Group was when we successfully launched a major project that required extensive collaboration across departments. As the deadline approached, we faced several challenges that tested our problem-solving skills and teamwork. I vividly remember a late-night brainstorming session where team members from different backgrounds came together, sharing ideas and strategies. The energy in the room was electric, and it was inspiring to see everyone's commitment to achieving a common goal. When we finally launched the project on time, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. It reinforced the power of collaboration and highlighted the supportive culture at Rogers Group. This experience not only strengthened my professional relationships but also deepened my appreciation for the teamwork that drives our success.

As the former Chief Serving Officer of Lovebridge, an NGO engaged in the fight against poverty, my journey with the Rogers Group began in 2017 in Bel Ombre, where our missions intersected in a shared commitment to support vulnerable families living in the region. This role allowed me to witness firsthand Rogers Group's dedication to social and economic progress within the region, especially through initiatives aimed at uplifting local communities. This initial interaction highlighted genuine involvement in sustainable projects and set the foundation for my lasting impression of the company's values and vision.

I still remember the day I walked through the doors of Rogers for the first time. There was a mix of nervous excitement and quiet determination in my heart. I didn’t know what to expect, but from the very beginning, I was greeted with warmth and a sense of belonging that felt almost immediate. What struck me most was the people, their kindness, their willingness to share knowledge, and their passion for what they do. It wasn’t just a workplace; it felt like being part of something bigger, a family with a shared vision. That first day was more than just the start of a job, it was the beginning of a journey filled with growth, connections, and unforgettable moments. And as I look back now, I can say with certainty that Rogers didn’t just shape my career; it shaped me.

Although I'm still new to the Rogers Group, one memorable moment stands out for me: my very first team meeting. I walked in feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, but everyone was incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere was so positive, with team members eager to share their ideas and experiences. It was inspiring to hear about the exciting projects underway and how passionate everyone is about their work. I particularly enjoyed a story someone shared about a successful collaboration that led to a significant breakthrough. It really highlighted the supportive culture here and made me feel like I was joining a family. I'm excited to contribute my own experiences and create more memorable moments as I grow with the team!

My first memory of Rogers starts in September 2022 when I began my internship in the finance department of Rogers Capital Credit and Financial Services. I was excited but also a little nervous. I was there to learn, and I ended up gaining much more than I expected. Right away, I noticed that the team was short-staffed, so I was given tasks that usually belonged to full-time employees. This pushed me to grow and develop my skills quickly. One of my favourite moments was during the Diwali party. We had to make a quick trip to the warehouse for a product audit because someone from the recovery section was leaving. It was a funny day; we all wore traditional Indian outfits, and the festive atmosphere made everything feel special. Balancing work and celebration created a memorable experience. Celebrating Diwali and Christmas during my internship made me feel like I belonged to a close-knit community. When my last day arrived on December 31, 2022, I felt a mix of sadness and hope, knowing I would return. In November 2023, I joined the Fiduciary team as an Xcelerate graduate, allowing me to learn about different departments. By May, I became a client accountant in the Client Accounting Department, which has been both challenging and rewarding. Looking back, I can say that Rogers has been a big part of my happiness and growth. Each day adds to my sense of peace and success, and I'm excited to continue this journey.
A memorable experience at Rogers: My time in the Xcelerate Program One particularly memorable moment during my time at Rogers was my experience in the Xcelerate Program, especially in the Client Accounting Department. This phase was incredibly engaging and involving, as I dove deep into managing accounts and tackling various challenges. The staff turnover during that time meant that we were often stretched thin, but I was fortunate to have supportive mentors who guided me through the tough days. There were moments of long hours and intense workload, but I embraced the challenges wholeheartedly. My hard work and dedication didn't go unnoticed; I felt appreciated and recognised as a valuable part of the team. Every memory from that time, especially the festivals we celebrated together, made the experience even more special. The camaraderie and joy during these celebrations added a personal touch to our busy workdays, making the challenges worthwhile. Overall, my time in the Xcelerate Program reinforced my commitment to the team and left me with lasting memories.

Stepping into the office as a fresh graduate, filled with excitement and a bit of nervousness. I remember being welcomed by my colleagues and immediately feeling a sense of belonging. My first day as a trainee in Health and Safety at Rogers & Co Ltd was a mix of learning the ropes and absorbing the company culture, which emphasized teamwork and excellence. It was a pivotal moment that set the tone for my journey with the company, sparking my passion for health and safety and shaping my career path.
I have been with the Rogers group for 15 years, currently employed as Safety and Health Officer at Rogers Capital. Looking back, it's been an enriching journey filled with growth, challenges, and opportunities. I joined Rogers fresh out of university, starting my career as a trainee in Health and Safety at Rogers & Co Ltd. During those early years, I worked under the guidance of Mr Dave Chamary, a seasoned expert whose leadership played a key role in my development. On-the-job learning proved to be a world apart from university theory, and I quickly grew under Dave's mentorship. He eventually entrusted me to manage operations on my own, a challenge that helped me gain confidence in my skills. I was also assigned to Fine Foods Marketing Ltd and Scott & Co Ltd, fulfilling safety duties under our service agreements with these companies. After 9 months of probation, I was confirmed in my role as Safety and Health Officer, which gave me a great boost of motivation to continue achieving success and proving my expertise. I'm grateful to Manish Bundhun for having confirmed my post, a decision that greatly encouraged me in my professional journey. After two years at Rogers & Co, I was transferred to Veranda Leisure and Hospitality Ltd, now known as Rogers Hospitality. Based in Bel Ombre, I was responsible for the safety of over 1,200 employees across several properties, including Heritage Awali, Heritage Le Telfair, C Beach Club, Villas Valriche, Heritage The Golf Club, and Château de Bel Ombre. Managing the health and safety needs of such a large operation was both challenging and rewarding. I led ISO audits, inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring that our reputation for excellence remained intact. Conducting compliance checks with various tour operators from different countries was a particularly valuable experience, giving me deeper insights into international standards and broadening my expertise. It was an intense learning experience that shaped both my personal and professional growth. After seven fulfilling years at Rogers Hospitality, I embraced a new challenge at Rogers Capital. This move introduced me to an entirely different environment, particularly with Rogers Capital Technology. Here, I faced the task of managing safety for complex operations involving towers and poles installed across Mauritius and Rodrigues. With no handover, I had to build the framework from scratch - implementing policies, procedures, conducting risk assessments, and training employees in hazardous activities. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, adding yet another layer of complexity to our work. Despite these challenges, I was promoted from staff to management level, further expanding my responsibilities, thanks to the unwavering support of Mr. Fabrice Baillache, who provided all the guidance I needed. At Rogers Capital, we are certified with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, and I have successfully navigated multiple audits with flying colours. The opportunity to lead new projects, like conducting inspections and risk assessment of towers on Rodrigues Island, continues to drive my passion. Moreover, conducting on-site inspections, managing risks, and working closely with different teams have been instrumental in my growth. I've also built strong relationships with sector MDs, and I'm grateful that my efforts have been met with positive feedback. With the support and encouragement of my head, Mrs. Diya Kinnoo, I'm confident that I will continue to thrive and take on new challenges that contribute to Rogers' future success.
In 2009, the Rogers Foundation was established as one of the first private sector initiatives in Mauritius, aimed at addressing societal challenges and driving positive change. Serving as a funding vehicle, the Foundation supports projects that benefit local communities and the environment. Initially focused on HIV/AIDS awareness and marine biodiversity protection, it has evolved from traditional philanthropy into a comprehensive approach that encompasses corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and inclusive development.
Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, the first and longest-established hotel group in Mauritius, has been a key player in the island’s tourism landscape since 1952 under the impulse of Amédée Maingard, the then CEO of the Rogers Group. The inception of this iconic brand began with the Park Hotel in Curepipe, a property that set the foundation for what would become a benchmark of luxury hospitality in Mauritius. In the mid-20th century, as Mauritius began establishing itself as a tourism destination, Rogers recognised the potential in the hospitality industry. Through its subsidiary, Mauritius Hotels Limited, Rogers acquired Château Mallac in the 1950s and converted it into the Park Hotel. This move marked the beginning of modern tourism on the island and positioned Rogers as a pioneering force behind the development of the Mauritian hotel sector.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, as international travel became more accessible, Rogers continued to support and expand the hotel group. They played a pivotal role in the construction and promotion of properties like Le Chaland Hotel and Le Morne Plage, both early foundations that paved the way for what would eventually become New Mauritius Hotels Ltd (NMH). In 1962, Beachcomber as a brand was officially born under NMH’s stewardship, becoming synonymous with upscale leisure and vacation experiences in Mauritius.
Rogers’ financial backing and strategic insights proved instrumental in Beachcomber’s transition to a full-fledged luxury hotel group. In the years that followed, NMH developed premier properties, including Trou aux Biches Beachcomber and the illustrious Royal Palm. Under the drive and vision of Herbert Couacaud, Robert de Speville and Marcel Masson who managed the company for many decades, Beachcomber played a crucial role in establishing Mauritius as a high-end destination in the global tourism market. Even during economically challenging times, Rogers supported NMH, ensuring the group could weather financial storms and capitalize on the tourism boom that defined the 1970s. Over the years, Beachcomber has grown into a collection of eight prestigious resorts, including the world-renowned Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury, which is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
In the early 2000s, Beachcomber underwent significant corporate restructuring as part of NMH’s expansion strategy. Despite this restructuring, Rogers maintained a close connection with NMH and today holds a 22.93% stake in the company. Today, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels stands as a testament to luxury, excellence, and environmental responsibility. The brand is deeply committed to sustainable tourism, integrating environmental and social practices across its properties. In 2022, the group celebrated its 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of unparalleled service, innovation, and a sustained dedication to sustainable development. The anniversary was also an opportunity to highlight Beachcomber's Environmental and Social Charter, which includes initiatives focused on biodiversity protection, energy efficiency, and community support. With a portfolio of distinguished hotels and a dedication to sustainability, Beachcomber remains at the forefront of Mauritian hospitality, continuing to attract discerning travelers from around the world.

Mon premier Interview

Wearing the Rogers uniform with immense pride back then, the company was best known as Rogers Airways Centre, so our uniforms displayed the aviation logo symbolized by a bird.
Every opportunity at Rogers has been instrumental in shaping my career. I began my journey in December 1989 as a Telex/Fax operator and receptionist, and each role I've held has been a significant step toward becoming a People Operations Specialist. Reflecting on my 35 years with Rogers, I see a clear pattern: every leader I've collaborated with invited me to join their team. Each time, I took the leap and embraced new opportunities, for which I am deeply grateful. Rogers places a strong emphasis on competencies, attitude, and behaviour, fostering an environment for growth. Thank you, Philippe, for being such an inspiring leader.

My first coffee at Veranda Grand Baie hotel and Spa.
Throughout my journey at Rogers Hospitality, I have experienced continuous growth in my skills, responsibilities, and leadership capacity. Beginning in 2019 as a Human Resources Officer at Veranda Grand Baie, I quickly adapted to the company’s unique culture, which helped me develop a deep understanding of the values and operational standards upheld across different properties.
Transitioning to Veranda Palmar Beach as a People Operations Assistant allowed me to hone my skills in employee relations and operational support, while managing daily HR functions with precision. This role strengthened my adaptability and introduced me to the dynamics of supporting efficient operations in a busy hospitality environment. My transfer to Veranda Tamarin provided an invaluable opportunity to lead the HR department, where I gained experience in managing teams, implementing retention strategies, and developing training programs. This leadership role helped me build strong decision-making skills and increased my capacity for strategic planning.
The grand reopening of Veranda Grand Baie was a pivotal point in my career, as I was entrusted with overseeing the induction of new employees, a role that enhanced my organizational skills and taught me the importance of a strong onboarding experience. Managing dual responsibilities at both Veranda Grand Baie and Voilà Bagatelle helped me improve my multitasking and prioritization abilities.
In April 2023, I was promoted to People Operations Specialist for Quick Service Restaurant, marking a significant milestone in my career. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing people operations in a high-demand environment, which has further developed my leadership skills, strategic thinking, and capacity to drive impactful initiatives tailored to the unique needs of quick-service hospitality.
Reflecting on my growth at Rogers Hospitality, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Each transition has been an invaluable learning experience, shaping not only my skills but also my perspective on leadership and people operations. Being promoted to People Operations Specialist was a defining moment that validated my hard work and reinforced my dedication to this field.
I'm proud of the journey and excited to continue evolving within Rogers Hospitality, where every role has deepened my commitment to making a positive difference.

I received a special bonus just two months after joining the team, before the year-end on June 30, 2022. During those two months, I faced the challenge of losing two key team members who left for new opportunities, and another who had to step away due to health issues. Despite these setbacks, I successfully met management's expectations by taking on the roles of Senior Client and Team Leader for the departed employees, while also serving as Assistant Manager for my team. I vividly recall being called in September by my Head of Department to collect my bonus letter, despite initially believing I wasn't entitled to one. It truly is a place where hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded.
The story I wish to share emphasises the powerful belief that hard work always brings success, based on my personal experience. Upon joining Rogers in 2022, my second appraisal recognised my managerial qualities. However, this acknowledgment coincided with a challenging period of health issues. As we approached the end of the financial year, with the pressure to complete all financial statements (FS), I battled a persistent lung issue that resisted medication. A high fever compounded my struggles, intensified by an unrelenting workload to complete the FS. Despite medical advice to rest, I prioritised my work and continued pushing myself. I remember arriving at work feeling dizzy and unwell, prompting my Head of Department Manesha to insist I see the office doctor. On the way to the doctor's office, I realized my condition was worsening. The next thing I knew, I was waking up on the floor. Despite this setback, I continued working remotely to finalize the pending FS. Once my health improved, Manesha commended my dedication and affirmed my potential for managerial excellence. I was subsequently promoted to manager. This story underscores the importance of chasing one's dreams and the belief that hard work pays off, even in the face of adversity.

My first memory of Rogers is from my very first day at the Domaine Labourdonnais office on the 2nd of September 2003. It was truly exceptional to start my career in such a beautiful place, surrounded by lush greenery. I was warmly welcomed by Régine Hardy and Virginie de Chateauneuf who were having a chat in the garden, and came to meet me as I was hesitant. They made me feel right at home. Now, after 21 wonderful years with the Rogers Group, I still cherish that feeling of belonging.
Here is how my journey began with Rogers group. I started as an Accounts Clerk, which was my second job in order to gain work experience and support my parents financially. A friend of mine was working in the HR department at the Marina Hotel (which was a hotel in Rogers Group), and we were both pursuing our studies in Human Resources together. Her boss, at that time was Mr. Jean Cyril Jullienne, and he was looking for a HR Assistant and asked my friend about potential candidates. She immediately thought of me and encouraged him to contact me in office. Jean Cyril called me for an interview, and to my surprise, he offered me the position. It was an incredible opportunity that I had never imagined I would receive. When I started in the HR department 21 years back, there were just two of us. Now, with the expansion of the group, we have grown into a large HR team. I am deeply thankful to Jean Cyril for believing in me and giving me that chance. A special 'Thank' to that dear friend too. Since joining the HR department, I have continued to grow and develop professionally. I am grateful to everyone who has played a role in my career journey.
